Are you ready to apply to become a Committee Volunteer? RCEF is offering part-time positions to volunteers interested in advancing quality education for children in rural China. Place of residence is not a limitation, since most communication and work is done through emails, online-conferencing, and phone.

Details About Committee Volunteering

Volunteers will be in close contact with and reporting to their respective Committee Directors and the Co-Executive Directors, mostly via online conferencing and email. Tasks will vary depending on the committee one applies to. Examples of tasks include researching topics relevant to RCEF programs, developing fundraising campaigns, and translating documents. Volunteers are expected to show commitment and initiative for their work, as well as interact with the other volunteers in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications

RCEF seeks volunteers who:

  • are highly motivated
  • are team-oriented
  • are good at working independently and taking the initiative
  • have a pioneering and creative mind
  • are committed, responsible, and open-minded
  • have an understanding of, and a sincere desire to learn and current issues in China’s rural development
  • have an understanding of Chinese culture and society
  • are able to work and communicate effectively and in a timely fashion via e-mail and other Internet tools
  • can work 1-8 hours a week (depending on the position)

Selection Process

First Round Applicants will be screened based on the written application and CV.
   
Second Round Applicants will receive one to two phone or in-person interviews.

Applicants will receive an acceptance or deferral in email one week after their second interview.
