Integrated Practice Curriculum

Integrative Practice Class is a primary school subject which emphasizes hands-on, community-based learning. It helps students learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing their surrounding environment. However, most rural schools don't teach this class because they don't understand its purpose well and lack practical teaching methods and training. Curriculum Developers in this project are developing practical goals and methods for this class which include aspects of interdisciplinary project-based, place-based and service learning.

This semester, this curriculum will focus on the following topics:

  • The history of Dong Wu Xing Village during the Second World War and how it came to be known as a famous revolutionary base.
  • Taking care of trees on the school campus.
  • Learning about the origins and traits of local traditional holidays.
